We have another letter from my terrace in Palma. This week it is number 22, ‘André and Lancelot’.  It is the story of two gardeners.

 

Today I am posting the fourth part of Johnson’s story.   Singlehandedly he produces his ‘Dictionary of the English Language’ which surpassed and improved on all previous dictionaries of English.  It took him nine years.
