Today's posts
The poem this
week is ‘Walking with Machado’. The poet
Antonio Machado was born in the south of Spain in Seville. In 1907 he obtained
the post of Head of French in the Instituto (secondary school) in the cold city
of Soria, where he met and married Leonor. Other poets, such as Gustavo Adolfo Becquer
and Gerardo Diego, loved Soria too. It is strange that the grey, sombre city,
where the winter is ferocious, should have attracted so many poets.
Today I am posting the third episode of ‘The Red Ferrari’: “A floor mop, a Spanish playwright and a return to Falsetto’s”. Magdalena continues to complicate matters but it is all in a good cause.
