Over
the next 14 Fridays I will post the story of Dorigen. It appeared on this blog
some time ago but will be easier to follow if I post it once more week by week
starting today.
It is a
story from the Middle Ages and is set in Brittany. Chaucer used it in the tale told by the
Franklin. ‘Dorigen’ is the Franklin’s
tale retold but, as I said when I first posted it, when Chaucer’s rhymes were
crying out to be kept, their wishes have been respected.
