Last week, in a pub, I met a man

who said he had a friend who knew

another man who’d made the claim

that one afternoon for an hour or two

he had been happy.

Worry and trouble come unasked.

They have a way of sneaking past

the best defences you can make.

They travel down the road you take.

But go your way, just go your way,

they’ll tire and leave you for a day.

Insure your house, your life, your car,

there’s no insuring a state of mind.

you’ll be surprised at what you find.
