Letter in a bottle

I wrote to you a letter,

The night you said goodbye.

I put it in a bottle

And the bottle in the sea,

It floats all day upon the tide.

Each day it floats away from me.

I have about as good a chance,

You’ll find it on some beach one day

A beach a thousand miles away,

Washed up there by the sea,

As that you’ll have a change of heart

And come back home to me.
