This week’s poem is ‘Die ungezählte Geliebte’. The title is from a short story by Heinrich Böll. It could be translated as ‘The woman loved and uncounted’. The writer of the story refuses to make a statistic out of the woman he doesn’t know but feels he loves.  

‘The Tall Girl from Somerset’.    We continue with Anne’s story, set in Somerset in the mid-1960s. Today is Chapter 23   ‘Anne. Two walks.  A long one on the Mendips in Somerset and a short one on the Downs in Bristol’.
